Kunstneren
Christel Marott (1919-1992) debuterede allerede som 17-årig som ugebladsillustrator og fortsatte livet igennem med at tegne både til danske og udenlandske uge- og modeblade som Vogue og Harpers Bazaar. Under kunstnernavnet Christel blev hun synonym med sine provokerende langbenede piger med en helt særlig vibrerende sensualitet, som er både sober og æggende på samme tid
